Day 4: Serengeti

We will have an early departure for a full-day safari. Serengeti National Park is located on a plateau of the Ngorongoro Highlands. The name “Serengeti” means “Endless Plain” in the Maasai language. The park’s climate, vegetation, and wildlife have remained largely unchanged for millions of years. It is also believed to be the place where early humans first appeared in the Olduvai Gorge about two million years ago. Between July and September, animals are found in
the northern part of the park and in the adjacent Maasai Mara in Kenya, where they seek refuge during the dry season. By mid-September, they migrate south, reaching the short-grass plains around the Gol Mountains and Hill Nabbi by December. Those that
survive the long migration give birth in January and February before continuing the search for water and greener pastures in May. We'll pause for a lunch break and continue on with the safari, with the chance to see abundant mammals such as warthogs, leopards, cheetahs, black rhinoceroses, hippos, giraffes, buffaloes, topis, cobs, elands, sitatungas, bushbucks, oryx, mountain reedbucks, numerous
rodent species, golden jackals, striped jackals, Grant’s gazelles, seven species of mongoose, two species of otter, bush pigs, and seven different primate species. Return transfer to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Serengeti until lunchtime, which will be a picnic. After lunch, we'll depart to Karatu, a town near the Ngorongoro Crater Conservation Area. Upon arrival at the
lodge, we'll enjoy dinner and an overnight stay

Day 6: Karatu - Ngorongoro Crater

This area is home to the largest herds of ungulates in the world, including wildebeests, plains zebras, Thomson’s gazelles, and Grant’s gazelles, as well as predators such as lions, spotted hyenas, leopards, and cheetahs, and some endangered rhinoceroses. Over 400 bird species can also be found, including flamingos, hornbills, and ostriches. The Ngorongoro Crater is located within the conservation area and contains an immense concentration of wildlife within its 20-kilometer diameter, along with nine volcanoes, offering incredible scenic views. Following a picnic lunch, we'll transfer to the lodge for dinner and our overnight stay.
